For publication I would aim high and choose to submit to gameinformer.com and Sports Illustrated since I had two pieces regarding the eSports community and another piece about Peyton Manning. I would submit them after careful revision. Also, my reaction to the Ferguson riots would be summed up in a few simple words "typical america". I personally believe that the United States is not a whole lot better since we have given rights to women and African Americans. There is still a lot of racism in not only individual people but in the government and overall America is falling apart. The government is waging war on poor people and minorities with their laws and its just starting to become really frustrating to the people who are put at a disadvantage. I saw a video entitled Why America is not the Greatest Country in the world and the truth is spoken in that video, people need to wake up and realize America is not the greatest an we have plenty of problems that we need to fix to become the greatest again.

Book club and website
So far in the book we have followed stories of underprivileged people from all over the place and it really has an effect on me personally. I chose the profession I want to be in to help people, even though the profession is now tainted but this really opens my eyes to things the country should be thinking of and not whether to break California into 3 states. It's just a great book that people need to read to be able to understand it's not what you have that makes you happy because these people have nothing. My website link is english280.weebly.com

Follow up interview
For my profile, I started by doing an interview over skype and getting basic information and some short stories about the subject, while also setting up a meeting face to face. After I completed my fave to fave I could see some of the processes we talked about in class that were really helpful, like taking notes and then transcribing them, that was one of the biggest helping tools I had. When I went to write my paper I was thinking about how to approach it and looked at my notes and decided to do a present time and then a flashback because it just seemed right. There are a lot of concepts that I ended up doing to complete my first draft without even realizing it.

Book club
We have the book The Working Poor and from what I read about it,it seems a lot like what I talked about in one of my classes last semester. In my ethics in criminal justice class we talked about how each race or class was different and discriminated against by the criminal justice system. I believe the book will pull in the same direction as I feel, which is that the poor people of the world are discriminated against even though the US government is supposed to help those people. I believe it will show how even those who work really hard for low pay get discriminated against and get put in situations where they cannot do what they really want.

In the essay Zepp's Last Stand I got to see the profile style of writing in a different way, the event happened in the past and Zepp was going to the Board of Correction for Military Records to try to overturn his dishonorable discharge. It gave me a look into how you can take the approach of looking at something in the persons past that you can then revisit in the present to get a story. I liked the essay because I am interested in history and the military in particular so reading about a persons military career and why they were fighting to earn an honorable discharge was cool. Also, interesting to see who was exempt from going overseas if drafted.
Mrs Kelly's Monster
When I was reading this essay I was thinking it was so in depth about everything Dr. Ducker was doing and every response Mrs. Kelly had. I thought at first that is was more of a biography type of essay but it does tell of only an event even though the event is really detailed. I liked the essay because it allowed me to see into the life of a doctor and inside the thoughts of a patient who has something that is taking away from their everyday life.
